Service
Community Service
At New Tech, giving back to the community is a vital part of building life-long learners and citizens that contribute in society. Service is not about a requirement, but about creating a spirit of service in our students. Students complete 10 hours of School Service by the end of the Sophomore year and 20 hours of Community Service by the end of the Junior year. Many students go above and beyond this and students are encouraged to get plugged into organizations that they are passionate about.
X2VOL
New Tech High students utilize X2VOL to log and track their school and community service hours. At the beginning of freshman year, students create an account and the organization or event that they completed the service with. Please see more resources below:
New Tech Lends a Hand
Each June, at the end of the school year, the New Tech students collaborate in their advisories and create a list of places to lend a helping hand. There is a great deal of possibilities for Tech Lends a Hand projects from cleaning up the river to volunteering at the Veteran’s home to helping in a classroom at another school for a day. This annual tradition plays a vital part in our efforts to give back to the community that surrounds us.
